J.Ellis Football are pleased to announce that proprietor James Ellis has joined Poole Town FC as 1st Team Coach.
James links up with Matt Tubbs who was earlier in the week announced as the new 1st Team Manager. Poole Town currently play in the Southern Premier League and sit in 7th position after gaining 10 points from the opening 6 fixtures.
Tubbs has appointed former AFC Bournemouth Academy Manager Joe Roach as Poole’s new Assistant Manager with Leon Scott & Mark Phillips completing the new look coaching team.
Poole Town was founded 143 years ago as Poole FC, which was a merger of Poole Rovers FC and Poole Hornets FC. It wasn’t until 1934 that they renamed as Poole Town. In October 2000, Poole moved to Tatnam where they currently occupy, which is known as the BlackGold stadium.
The club have an illustrious history, amassing 18 Dorset Senior Cup titles as well as winning the Southern League Premier Division in 2015-16, which was subsequently followed up with a 5th place finish in the National League South in 2016-17.
The new move for James means that he has tendered his resignation with AFC Bournemouth where he was the U13’s Lead Coach. This is with immediate affect having already begun his new role. The new role will not affect any of our services.
We wish Matt and of course Joe, James, Leon, Mark and all of the staff, players and fans the very best for the rest of this campaign.
